Nothing Goes as Planned

Nothing ever goes as planned in my life, I don't know why I am constantly suprised by this fact!

The anticipation has been killing us! I am driving to meet Corey at the hospital and am soooo nervous about finding out the gender of the baby that I can barely drive in a stright line!! (Yes and snapping pictures was only adding to the problem!)

Nervous Momma!!

I get to the hospital to find Corey wearing THIS face, Yep!! He was nervous too!! We were both trying to play it cool, but we had been waiting for this day forever it felt like....March 23, 2009, the day we find out if it's a boy or a girl!!

Nervous Daddy

Ughhh....No! Little stinker had it's legs crossed so tight, there was no way of knowing. We left so heart broken and disappointed. Corey and I had planned to spend the rest of the day celebrating our wonderful son or daughter and shopping for it's first SOMETHING from mom and dad. Needless to say, we went home totally bummed. I folded laundry and Corey planned for our storage building in the backyard.

Luckily, March 24, 2009 came along and I went to work. I called down to the ultrasound department and begged Michelle (ultrasound girl) to check me again. I took a few large gulps of coke~yikes~to caffine up the tot and hopefully see some action. The little stinker was quite the showman that day! She is clearly a GIRL!! I called Corey right away with the news that he was having a daughter! March 24th was not as planned, of course, but a wonderful day.

Corey and I have been shopping since then. We each picked out our little lady's first outfits and they are quite cute. I was worried about picking something too girlie....yea, check out Corey's picks!

Mommy's Pick

Daddy's Pick
I had to include close ups of Corey's choices. He has great taste and going to be a great Daddy! I also must mention that HIS outfit was much more than mine!

He has already claimed that this will be the first dress worn to church!I think he's going to be a pretty proud Poppa!

Are these NOT the cutest tiny shoes you have ever seen! What a Dad, he already understands women and great shoes

We are so excited about the news of a little girl!

Not Big on Changes

Anyone who really knows me KNOWS that I get really attached to things and am constantly keeping change at arms length. When I get attached I really struggle with goodbyes!! I am that person that believes that everything has feelings...right down to the ketchup bottle. If you have ever been shopping, of ANY kind with me, you know~DON'T pick something up if you aren't going to buy and NEVER pick one up and put it back to get one "further back" that no one has touched yet. This sadly DOES apply to the ketchup bottle. What I am getting at here is some major changes in my world lately that have been particularly difficult for me.

FIRST: My Highschool Car, the cookie monster blue Rav-4

When I graduated from nursing school in May 'o8, we were wanting to start a family, and my beloved car was not well suited. My poor nephew's car seats had been crammed in there enough to know, we wouldn't do that to OUR children!! HeeHee! This was awful...I begged my wonderful husband to let me keep it as a pet, but he was not quite as attached. I know there are several of you out there who remember this car well (poor thing has secrets it will never tell!) and just know it went to a wonderful home (the Riggs Family) and they are nice enough to drive it by now and again for a visit!!

SECOND: My Chair, My personal throne

I bought a couch and chair when I got my first real job (@Colonial Funeral Home) and first self-paid apartment. Independence FINALLY! (right mom and dad?!) I fell in love with this chair and have dearly loved it for 7 years! Its huge, its fluffy and I bought it!! Today, actually, I parted with this dear chair and I can't hardly stand it!! We sold our furniture and got wonderful replacements, but this chair was really my first thing I ever bought that I loved, and Chula loved it too!! She's been on this chair just as long as I have!! Good news is, it went to a wonderful lady who loves doggies, so it will feel right at home. Ughhh...tears!

Those two changes have really been hard~I am very sentimental!! Few changes I love lately:

June is my new biggest admirer. This dog knows there's a baby in my belly and is so sweet to me, almost to the point of annoyance. It's so sweet though! She's giving the baby and hug!

My growing belly! I never thought I would like a growning belly, but I love it!! Here I am at 18 weeks! (No make-up on means no smiling face~sorry!!) Everything is going wonderful and I am feeling great. We Find out the sex in 6 days!! Stay tuned for that!!

Lindsey's La-La Land

Why La-La Land? Well, as I tossed and turned all night with the pressures of naming my blog and trying to get this ever changing pregnant belly comfortable, it came to me pretty easily actually. After all, for as long as I can remember I have been caught in, accused of drifting to and snapped out of La-La Land! What a wonderful place, and since this is now MY place to write and reflect, why not make it my La-La Land. Now everyone will have to visit me here in my own little world. Lindsey's La-La Land!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My wonderful and very funny husband , Corey, our loveable-to-a-fault, clumsy lab, June and Chula, the scared of everything, dog only I can love, poo-wawa are what make my life fun and complete. But things, they are a'changing! I am currently 17 1/2 weeks pregnant with our first little one. We are impatiently awaiting the news of boy or girl and watching my belly grow. My favorites so far have been the first heatbeat and first little movements in my tummy. Feeling it move is one of my favorite things these days. I love to sit still and pay attention to every little flutter! Gas or toes, who really knows, but every minute is special!
Chula and June are used to being the centers of attention around this house! I'm not sure if their ready for the competition it's way.
We had the pleasure of telling our family the pregnancy news over Christmas, and even though I was a mere 7 weeks, who can pass up Christmas with a gift like this!! Corey was my favorite baby news flash. We had eaten breakfast that Saturday morning and I wasn't feeling well, he decided to work in the yard and I decided to *suprise* take a nap. I couldn't shake this icky feeling and thought maybe a little "check" wouldn't hurt. To my suprise, and near fall in the bathroom, we had our first two pink lines! I rushed out the door to Target to pick up a SUPRISE, "your gonna be a Dad" gift, rushed back home with two "I Love Daddy" bibs, one in pink and one in blue. Corey's reaction was classic..."Who? You?" The picture will be one of my favorites forever....
So many exciting things to come! Hopefully my La-La Land will be a way for everyone to follow us along and join all the fun!! Chula wanted to leave you with her scary face until next time!! Don't worry, I keep her away from small children!!
I told everyone it was a face only I could love!!!
