Road Trip!

At 4 whole big weeks, we took Lilah on her first road trip. Corey is going to be in a wedding in October and we had to get him fitted for a tux. We woke up early (well, semi-early) and hit the road to Sugarland. It's impossible to take two gals to Sugarland and JUST get fitted for a tux, shopping must be involved!!

Lilah gave us the thumbs up! She's ready to hit the open road. Daddy is all smiles too, so far so good!
Now, there is one thing about Lilah, she poops like a crazy baby anytime we are in public! I always have to have extra clothes, LOTS of diapers and wipees!

First stop: Tuxedo place. Lilah was needing to eat and their bathrooms were tiny and filthy. Typical of a place men shop. There was an employee who was gracious enough to let me use their large handicap dressing room. It was nice, but a little weird nursing with men in dressing rooms all around you with a smacking baby. Lilah is also NOT a lady when it comes to her baby crazy pooping. She was ripping them so loud and I was so embarrassed. She blew out 2, YES 2 diapers in 10 minutes. It was loud and smelly and I was so glad to get out of there!!!

Here we are again in the dressing room with yet ANOTHER major blow out! I mean what is this child eating? This one required a wardrobe change. I know I am mentioning poop a lot, but that was pretty much all she did the whole trip!

Little fun with Dad while Momma shopped.
Mohawks are in for all the truely hip baby girls this year.

Momma is pretty ready to head home after a quick stop at Buckee's for some late night snacks. Lilah also made her first road trip friend, Buckee himself in the flesh...or.....fur!

She was quite the trooper. Poor baby was worn out and exausted! She was good though, so I know the Winters' girls shopping gene is pumping through those little veins. Yay!! I did learn that nursing anywhere sounds easy enough but is actually super tricky, babies really can sleep through anything AND i don't want to do that again anytime soon.....
or until it's time to pick up the tux.

First Sunday

Lilah's first Sunday to go to church. Isn't she a cutie? We did great, pulled up to the church parking lot and she spit up all over her pretty dress, of course! She also blew out her bloomers at lunch. My little toot!!

My 29th Birthday!!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy to me!!

I cannot believe that I am 29 this year. Wow, were does the time go?

I feel like I was just 20 last year!

I have so many wonderful things to be thankful for this year:

1. My wonderful family:

My sweet husband Corey and my new daughter, Lilah.
They mean the absolute world to me and I enjoy them so much.
I look forward to seeing them both everyday.

2. I have a JOB!!
The last 2 birthdays I have been in nursing school and I can finally say
that I am a working girl this year. I am blessed with a wonderful job and
coworkers that I actually look forward to working with!

3. I am healthy and happy:
Not everyone in the world can say that; it is a true blessing.

4. Much to look forward to:
I am only 29 (as hard as it is to put the word only) which means I have a lot of
life left to look forward to. So many exciting things still to experience and do!!
Bring it on 29!!

I was able to enjoy my special day at home with Lilah in our PJ's just hanging out and enjoying the joy of spending time with her. That evening Corey, Lilah and I went to dinner at Red Lobster and had wonderful family time!

Lilah even got me a cake!

She also got me a card that said "Thanks for taking such good care of me~Love, Lilah"It was a very sweet birthday, and I think that I have a pretty sweet husband too!!

Thanks Babe!!

Family Fun

I was so excited for my sister, Lacie and her family to come visit and meet Lilah for the first time. They weren't able to come down when she was born and so I was really eager to see them and introduce her to them. Family is super important to me and it was killing me that my sister hadn't gotten to meet my little baby girl yet!! It was so great to have everyone together and all under one roof, and for such a wonderful occasion as a new addition.

Lacie and her family drove in very late to my mom's, but Lacie arrived at my house bright and early at 5am to help me and Lilah start our day. We were awake and waiting for her! I'm sure Lacie felt like she already knew Lilah very well after the numerous DAILY phone calls with questions I had ever since the day Lilah was born. We had a very special morning filled with Starbucks and pictures and awaited the arrival of her troops (the boys) to meet Lilah for the first time too.

Gramzie and PawPaw with all three of the grandkids together at last!

The boys were absolutely adorable when they met Lilah for the first time. We let them climb up so they could see her and touch her. They were very gentle and sweet. Their excitement was very dear and special to their Auntie Lindsey!

An up close look at their new cousin.

I think this group will be quite the handful in a few years!

They all look like trouble to me!!

One more look by big cousin B before bed! What a sweetie.

Having everyone togther was such a blessing. It is a completely different experience when you have a little one to worry with! It adds a whole new element to a family get together. I know Lilah will love her big boy cousins! They will be teahing her all about dinosaurs, horses, cars and bugs before long! What fun!!

Photo Shoot

My big sister, Lacie and her family were finally able to visit from Brock and come meet our sweet Lilah. Lacie has an awesome camera and I told her the one thing that I really wanted her to do while she was down was help me take some pictures of Lilah for her birth announcements. Lilah was really good and 200+ pictures and a naptime break later, we had some really adorable pictures. I was so excitied! Lacie did a really beautiful job and now I know exactly what I want Santa to bring me this year! Lacie's camera!!
Just look at that face!

We bought these little bloomers at an embroidery shop in Cuero.
They are still way too big, but they made for a very sweet picture!

This is one of my favorites! This is the Lilah we always tell people about, but no one ever sees. She definately knows how to turn it on and off, but Corey and I know the truth.
Even so, isn't it the cutes little tantrum face you have ever seen?

And another favorite.
Something so precious about a momma and her daughter.
I'll have to look back on this picture when she's 16 and making me crazy and remember that there is my sweet baby in there somewhere!!
